First Day of Summer Christmas Card

It's so humid today in Wisconsin that my hair is just frizzy.  They are forecasting storms this afternoon.  I should be out mowing the yard quick (and by quick I mean about 2 1/2-3 hours). Instead I wanted to STAMP!

Each month, Stampin Up! Demonstrators receive a magazine from Stampin' Up! It showcases some of the new products coming out in July and some cards made with them.  This card is a CASE from the magazine.

This is a cute little 6" x 3" card showcasing the Pennant Parade stamp set and the new pennant punch. I love the little 'trees'.  :)

Simply for the Birds

Tomorrow is the big day, I meet with the school district about Evan going for a few hours a week.  I am having the worst time thinking that I have to send my baby to school at 3 years old.  *sigh*  Hopefully all goes well tomorrow and some of my fears are put to rest.

I decided tonight to make a bright cheery card to offset my glum mood.  I love this dsp, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is!  It was in a mini w/ a tropical set.
It's bright and definitely a summer card.  :)

Here's a close up of the image--aren't they so cute?

Look Whoooos 2...

Little Owl has flown from yesterday's card to today's scrapbook page.  I have to admit--I'm quite fond of this little punch.  I thought he would be just the embellishment to perch on Evan's scrapbook page.

This was a scrapbook sketch challenge from Sudsol.  I absolutely loved the sketch with all the circles!

Country Boy

May is National Scrapbooking Month.  I wanted to start the month on the right foot with a scrapbook page.  I'm excited.  I bought the pictures of Evan I had taken at Sears so I can scrapbook them using My Digital Studio.  I can't believe he's 2 1/2 and I have never gotten his pictures professionally taken.  I thought it would be hard to get him to cooperate, but he did really well.  I sang "The Wheels On the Bus" and he grinned.  I'm don't know if anyone else was grinning at my singing, but Evan loved it and I love the pictures.  I especially love these with the bare toes.  Nothing cuter than little feet!

Sweet Little Valentine

This week I participated in my first Chat & Challenge on Sudsol.  It was a lot of fun to chat w/ the ladies. Christyne, who led the chat, gave us this cute little sketch to use to make a card.

Okay, I drew out the sketch on a piece of paper.  I do that now so I don't forget what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing when I get down in my craft room. I sometimes get a little distracted and find myself coming back upstairs when Evan wakes up w/o my sole purpose for going down untouched. (sigh) Maybe it's because I'm getting old.

Anyway, where was I--oh  yes, I took the sketch downstairs and you won't believe it.  It took on a life of it's own.  I was just staring at the sketch and my hands were punching borders, adding rub ons , dsp and ribbon and voila...finished.  BUT it doesn't look much like the sketch.  Hmmmm...what happened!  LOL

Oh well.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Thank you SU for the cute rub ons. What a nice Valentine's Day gift  and thanks Christyne for the sketch it really was my inspiration. ♥

This is a little bitty valentine only about 5" x 2 7/8".  On Valentine's Day, it just the right size to put in one of my girls' lunchboxes along w/ a little chocolate.

Here's an MDS card I made this morning showing how you can use the distressed dsp on standard size cards not just scrapbook layout.   Cardmakers--MDS is for you too!

Testing it out...

I have found a couple more uses for MDS.  As if I need another excuse to use it.  :)  I bought the Friends 24/7 stamp set shortly after it came out.  I loved the look of it, but honestly I have had zero success making an actual card w/ it.  So today, I went to work with it on MDS.  Well after a few color changes and some other modifications, I came up w/ a sympathy card.

Another great use for MDS.  When I'm craving some snackies, I have decided that rather than raiding the fridge, I would work on a project instead.  You know that dreaded New Year's Resolution to lose weight? Well I made my resolution to lose 111 in 2011 along w/ another stamper, Tana Conley.  So far so good, I'm down 6 pounds.
LOL.. who know MDS was good for weight loss?   It really is a must have!

Airmail

I'm so glad that today is not Christmas Eve! Santa would definitely need Rudolph to guide his sleigh and some heavy duty duct tape to keep him on board. Wisconsin is a winter wonderland today. We got about 3-4 inches of snow yesterday. (We were lucky just a few miles north of here they had a foot of snow!) Now I don't mind the snow, but we have 30-40 mph wind. It's beautiful out here in the country where we live. I planned ahead so we don't have to go out and can just enjoy the day at home.

I made a quick My Digital Studio card. I had no idea these stamps were included in MDS. I was so excited when I happened on them.

My Little Hopper

Christmas time--it's the most wonderfully BUSY time of the year. Today, my 'to do list' includes baking cookies and making Christmas cards. I decided that I would take a little time out from all the hub-bub this morning and open up My Digital Studio. It's such a nice way to start the day. Plus I still have plenty of time to make my Christmas Cards, right?! EEEEK!~

This particular page was made using the sketch challenge from SUDSOL. (yep, I finally took the plunge and became a full fledged member!) I'm having such a great time looking through their gallery and participating in their challenges. I wonder why I didn't do join years ago. :)

Here's Evan again. I think he's outgrowing his favorite place--my stove drawer. I swear I can watch him grow right now just looking at him. All of a sudden, he is a big boy. Where did my baby go? ♥
