Sympathy Card

This past week, my eldest aunt on my mom's side passed away.

I have made this card before--it is a CASE from SCS, sponging Close to Cocoa to give it an antique look, but I wanted it to be a little softer this time so instead I used Perfect Plum.

Card Recipe:

Ink: Perfect Plum

Stampin' Write Markers: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Mellow Moss

Cardstock: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers, En Francais, Sanded

Accessories: mat pack, paper piercer, moss 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, sponge, scallop oval and large oval punch

In-Law SWAP

This month, my mother-in-law, two sister-in-laws and I decided that we were going to start a monthly card SWAP. We all live at a distance from one another now, so we don't get to show off our creations or get together as much anymore. I'm excited to see what they come up with for AUGUST!

My Mother-in-Law, Caroline's card. (She used Flower Soft....isn't it pretty?)

I love my sister-in-law, Julie's version of the flower pot. I love the BIG flowers.

Great minds think alike?? Here's my flower pot card...lol

This is Joni's card. I love the colors she used. She's great at incorporating embellishments. I need to get some tips from her.

After the Storm

Last Friday night, Southwestern Wisconsin had some strong storms roll through with golf ball size hail, winds in excess of 65 mph and rain....ohhh how did rain. There were a lot of crops destroyed, along w/ homes and buildings damaged. In the county where we live, they used snow plows to remove the hail from the highways!

My sister, Laurie lost her vegetable garden, an apple tree and her flowers . She has an amazing green thumb--her yard is GORGEOUS so this is quite a loss. They also received moderate damage to their home. The hail came at an angle with such force she has holes in her siding and the 'grit' from the shingles on the roof was laying on the front sidewalk.

We live about 45 miles east of them and all we had has rain and a little wind. Dani, my 16 y/o daughter, was outside right after the rain stopped and the sun was setting. The sky was amazing to look at after the storm.

Cheep Talk Birdhouse

I have been wanting to make a birdhouse card. I have seen so many cute bird cards lately and Cheep Talk was sitting on my shelf calling my name....

This morning while Evan was napping, I went downstairs and this is what I came up with. I think it's missing something, but I couldn't decide what. Any ideas?

I found the problem and added a scallop edge to the roof and a little flower... ahhhh...much better. LOL

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Cheep Talk

Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Whisper White

Ink: Rose Red pad, Rose Red and Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers (flower)

DSP: So Saffron and Certainly Celery

Accessories: brads, scallop circle punch, 1" and 1 1/4" circle punches and dimensionals

Upsy Daisy CASE

I had to CASE this card when I saw it on SCS. Pam Varnell "stampingpam" is the original creator of this card. After falling in love with this card, I visited Pam's blog and found out that she is another AMAZING stamper! Go visit her if you get a chance.
My favorite colors are pink and green and had no idea that they were such a perfect color combination. I absolutely loved the Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss In-Colors from the last catalog and find that I have to retrain myself, because my go-to colors are gone. :(
I thought this would be the perfect card for a 97 year old woman from my church that recently fell and broke her arm. I hope she enjoys the card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy
CS: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip Craft Ink, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: gold brads, mat pack and paper piercer, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette DSP, embossing powder, sponges, heat gun

My Angel Policy Stamp

This is my new personalized ANGEL POLICY stamp. I was really disappointed when I found out my name was TOO LONG for the cutest little butterfly angel policy stamp in the new SU! catalog I called SU! to inquire about it and it was a no go on the butterfly. BUT I had an IDEA! Could I make my own stamp angel policy stamp using their other personalized stamps? YES!! I picked the little tree so I could ink it up for the changing seasons. I LOVE IT! Isn't it cute?

What My Stamping Room REALLY looks like...

Everyone said my stamping room was TOO NEAT. lol.... I bet no one can say that now. :) I have a lot of cards pre-cut and ready to assemble that I have been working on for customers. So whenever Evan is sleeping, I head down there and assemble. Unfortunately, my boy is a catnapper and not much gets done in that 15-20 minute stretch. When he wakes up, I just drop what I'm doing (as you can tell by the picture) and head back upstairs to get him.
Today, my goal is to make a place big enough to finish my flower pot cards that I started last night.
My Sister-in-Law is coming back to Wisconsin this weekend for our belated 4th of July celebration and is dying to see my stamping area. She'll die all right! LOL

I love getting cards in the mail. It is such a good feeling to open the mailbox and know that someone has thought of you. My MIL and friend, Caroline is good at making my day brighter. She sends me cards and not just any cards--HOMEMADE CARDS! I love this card that she sent to thank me for her birthday gift. Wouldn't receiving this card make your day too?!
