DSP Organization

I have started a new organization practice when new DSP arrives at my house. I am the worst at remembering what SU! colors coordinate with the paper and keeping my scraps of DSP together.

Here's my Autumn Spice DSP. Notice that I just clip the plastic wrap on one end.

After cutting pieces of DSP, I return the scraps to the original package.
I bought some return address labels last time I was shopping and am putting them to good use--organizing my Stampin' Room! :)

Using my address labels, I wrote the name of the dsp, the catalog where it can be found and the coordinating colors. I really think this will save me a lot of time and I hope I might have saved you some time too! ♥

  1. Wendy, this is the easiest way to keep it all together that I've seen! Now why didn't I think of that 2 years ago?! I'll be using this idea from now on, especially the label idea. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

  3. I usually just write it on the cardboard, but this is a great idea! I just need to make sure the scraps go back in the right package! hahaha

  5. Great idea. Simple and for only the cost of address labels - a couple cents. I will definitely put this into use.

  6. I've scanned the dsp & color descritpion in the IBC or Mini & cut it out & then place it in the pkg. Then I can see the colors easily & know what paper I need to grab. To use paper more efficiently, I crop my scans in my Paint program & place them on one sheet of paper & then print it out. Beth

  7. I have done this for a couple years too ... works great if the plastic sleeve doesn't rip .... if and when it does, I use the big 2-gallon zip-lock bags. Makes for more space taken up, but pays off big time in the end. Before I started doing this, I was looking in the older cattys way too often.

  8. I just write the colors on the back of the cardboard piece that comes in the package and always have put my scraps in the plastic wrap...I do this with the card stock scraps too.

  9. Absolutely brilliant! I already store my scraps that way, but I had not thought of the address label. I have (in the past -- although not consistently) written the colors on the white cardboard backing next to the name of the paper, but I like this idea SOOO much better!

  12. Good idea..but I had to get some of the SU scrapbook bags >>cello bags on supply that are 14x14 or so.. they're heavier and hold up a lot better. I was ripping the original baggie all to pieces!! I didn't think about putting a label on the front... Love that idea... I have a BOX full of labels I can use!!

  13. Hello!
I thought I would add my "two cents" to this idea.....I had a problem with the original packaging ripping too, so I just slide everything into a 12x12 scrapbook page protector!
Hope this is helpful to someone!
