Bleu Chateau Boxes

The time change is about killing me.  I am not a person you find looking at the clock a lot.  My body just knows when it's time to get up, time to eat, time for the school bus to arrive, time to sleep.  Well it did!!  Now I am just a mess.  It's only Wednesday and I have overslept two mornings. Monday morning, Riley Kate had to be drove into school.  We are about 6 1/2 miles from school and with the price of gas (and inconviencing the bus driver), we always try to have Riley Kate on the bus in the morning. She probably could have made the bus if I threw her a poptart and had her sprint our quarter of a mile driveway (uphill), but I'm just not that kind of mom.  :)  So needless to say I'm not 'embracing' the time change at this point. BUT I am embracing the Wisconsin weather.  It's gorgeous.  Evan is lovin being outside--he likes to chase the chickens.  Oh and the grass is already greening up.  I am one of those strange people that loves to mow so I can't wait. Granted, we have a riding mowing. ;)

While I am waiting to mow, I might as well stamp.  LOL

I love these little kraft boxes from the Occasions mini catalog (124106 Kraft Gift Box (4)) and the new blossom punch (125603 Blossom).  I wanted to make some of these for my Hostess Club.  I am trying to use some of my hoarded DSP.  It was very hard for me.  I used a few sheets from several different packs.  I did break down and open my Beau Chateau paper (122357) and didn't want to cut it. It's so pretty!  I think there's a 10 step program for people like me out there.  :)

Here's my rooster box:

The happiest birthday sentiment is from the Apothecary Arts set (125527) from the Occasions Mini.  I would love to receive a little present in this box. Is it wrong to Awwwww!  at your own creation? LOL

The catalog says pink pirouette matches it, but I went with Blush Blossom for the matting and the flower.  I liked it a little darker.

Here's another box:
The dsp has the same floral pattern as the stamp from the Elements of Style set.  It's very pretty paper.  I made a Marina Mist flower on top.

Reminder: Sale-a-bration is ending in just a couple of weeks. If you are still wanting to take advantage of the promotion, now would be a great time.  Go to my online store and order today!

Whew!  Evan's awake. I finished my post just in time.
Have a great day!

Spice Cake Backpack

I thought that September being back to school would be a great month to make backpacks w/ my Hostess Club.   I used the new Spice Cake dsp from the Holiday Mini and Early Espresso cardstock.

I made this little backpack using a tutorial I found online.

It took me awhile to get this little cutie together, BUT if you read the tutorial and don't just go setting eyelets and taping things together, it will probably go much faster for you.  I have no patience.  You can ask my mom, she'd tell you all about it.  (Oh the stories she'd tell you!)

Once I stopped and looked the tutorial over, it was pretty easy.

NOTE:  This tutorial calls for 6 eyelets.  Luckily, my stash is well stocked. Sadly, SU! no longer sells them. You could make it without eyelets, but be gentle pulling your ribbon through.  :)

Baja/Celery Hostess Gifts

This all started w/ a simple CASE. This card was totally inspired by Angie Juda. She shared this card (well almost-I think I used a different color for my flowers) this week.  I loved it!  I wanted some simple, but pretty cards to give to my March Hostess Club Hostess.

I made my hostess 6 cards, but only attached one of the scallop circles.  Just in case she would like to use a different sentiment for her cards, she could always use the scallop circles for tags.

I added a little test tube w/ white M&Ms.  I think this is so stinkin' cute!  Omgosh...  Is it okay that I get this excited about stamping?  LOL

Here's everything packaged up and tied with Pear Pizzazz ribbon.  Sweet!

January Hostess Club

Tuesday night was Hostess Club night.  It is always such a good time, but this month I didn't have many in the group come.  We had a stomach bug running through our house. I warned the ladies that we were sick and if they didn't want to come and risk getting sick themselves, I would make their projects for them.  I honestly say that I wouldn't have wanted what we had.  YUCK!

Here are the January projects.

First we started out with coaster calendars.  I cut up a lot of different dsp (including some retired) and let the ladies choose which they liked.  I hope I chose well for those who couldn't come....

Here are my favorites...  I wonder how many calendars I can justify making for myself.  I would make both of these again. :)

After the Coaster Calendars came the Cupcake Birthday card and the matching cupcake box.  I thought they were adorable--all pink and sweet.  I can't wait to hear the reaction when I give them to ladies.

I did make cupcakes Tuesday night to go in the boxes, but well when your husband has a sweet tooth, they disappeared quick....  Sorry ladies!  Maybe I will make another batch to fill your boxes.  :)

Then everyone got a Valentine from me. I showed these a few days ago. I really wish that Filled w/ Love promotion would have lasted longer. It is such a cute set and I LOVE the paper.

Mini Magazine Card Holder

Hostess Club is next week and I wanted something special for my hostess.  I know that she LOVES Not Quite Navy.   Now those of you that follow my blog know I haven't used NQN in a long time.  I pulled out my Color Coach (LOVE that tool) and found some complimentary colors. I chose Baja Breeze, because I had an idea what I wanted to do for her.  :)

I wanted a clean and simple card that she could use for almost any occasion.
Using my Upsy Daisy set, I stamped the flowers once in Baja Breeze then inked my stamp with Not Quite Navy moved it over just a hair and voila...
I added a little strip of NQN dsp and a kraft taffeta ribbon.  :)

I made her 6 notecards and then I decided that you just can't be handing out cards without a holder....

I made her a simple little mini magazine holder to match her cards.

My first Biggest Loser weigh in was last night. I was down -2.8#.  I'm hoping in the 12 weeks to be down 30#.  I guess I will have to spend lots of time STAMPING!  :)
Have a great Friday!

Autumn Spice Test Tube

I love the Autumn Spice dsp (item #120808) in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I think it's so rich and pretty and it matches the Holiday M&Ms perfectly. :) It seemed like a perfect excuse to use my brand new test tubes. I bought a few of them in a bulk buy on the SeaSideCrafts yahoo group. I saved a little money which is nice because Evan ALWAYS needs diapers and I can always think of more stamps I would like from Stampin' UP! LOL

I added a couple leaves from the Day of Gratitude stamp set (item #121148 clear) also in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It coordinated with the Autumn Spice dsp. I didn't think I need this set. Now I am looking forward to making as many cards and projects as I can before winter comes.
But I'm sure I will have another favorite for the winter months. :)
