A little over a month ago, my brother in law, Jeff went into the emergency room with stomach pain. After several tests, the results came back that Jeff has cancer. He had spots on his liver, in his lymphnodes in his groin and a tumor on his esophogus. It is inoperable and incurable. He had his second chemo treatment yesterday.....
This afternoon is the benefit for him. I wanted to make Jeff and my sister, Julie some simple thank you cards for some of those who gave them gifts and donated items for the benefit.
Using the Ribbon of Hope stamp and the retired color Almost Amethyst (close to periwinkle right?), I made them almost 3 dozen thank you cards. They aren't fancy, but they are functional.
I found this great poem online. I thought it was absolutely perfect.

The thank you notes are not only thoughtful, but elegant and express your message clearly and simply. Thank you very much for sharing this. I may CASE this as I have several friends suffering from this awful disease.
ReplyDeleteI am in remission at this point from stage 3 Cancer for 6 months. Went for Cat Scan on Thursday....fingers are crossed along with a prayer. The hospital has an underground walkthrough so you don't have to cross the street. This saying is posted on the wall. The first time I read it...I thought how true. Infact, I copied it down in my journal. My prayers are with your brother-in-law. Chemo and Radiation are brutal. Remember Hope happens and so do Miracles.

ReplyDeleteI work as a nurse on a Bone Marrow Transplant unit -- I have to say that although it is often such a place of such despair, my patients daily inspire me with their wills to survive if they can, or to pass on with dignity when that is not possible.
My prayers are with Jeff and his family.
