PoP..pOp...PoPcOrN

I'm getting ready for holidays by thanking all those people in our lives that make our everydays better.  You know the school secretaries, the bus driver, the teachers, the librarian (my daughter loves to read and requested one for the school librarian), the mailman.  In our case, we also remember Evan's therapists, chiropractor, teachers and aides.  This year one little gift they will receive is popcorn sleeves.  I make A LOT of sleeves.  They go fast--we can always think of someone else to give a little something to especially during the holidays.

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas....

Are you gearing up to make your Christmas cards?  If so, this is just the color challenge for you.  Krista's Cards & Things Challenge this week has great colors to kick up your Christmas creativity.

Using the same sketch, I made two different cards.  The first card is your standard A2 size w/ a whisper white background.  It turned out pretty cute, but I thought I wanted to try something different and check out the results...
This second card is a 4 1/4" square card.  The nice thing about this size is that you can still use your A2 envelopes and there's no extra postage.
This card has a crumb cake background w/ whisper white craft ink swiped over out to  make it look just a little frosty.  I love that look.

Which card do you like best?
Are you making your Christmas cards this year?

If you would like to order any supplies to make your cards this year, please email me.  I would be happy to get your items ordered and ship to you right away so you can give handmade cards this year.  :)

Merry & Type

Does anyone else feel like it's full speed ahead?  I can tell that the holidays are approaching.  The lazy days of summer have turned into the CRAZY days of fall.  The kids are always standing in front of our calendar writing another event in.  The calendar is the fullest that I can ever remember. Sometimes when I'm  driving Evan here or picking up Riley Kate from there, I try to stop and remember how truly blessed I am.  I have 2 wonderful kids at home full time & Dani home on the weekends to occupy my time. Poor Terry, he just blends in.  ♥

Saturday night, we set the clocks back.  It is wonderful in the mornings. I was awake at 4 AM this morning.  My internal clock needs to be reset.  LOL  But the nice thing about early mornings is NO one is up.  I made breakfast and started in dinner in the crockpot,  packed Terry's lunch, ran the dishwasher and STAMPED!

While contemplating whether I was going to stay in bed and wait for the alarm to go off or get up, I remembered I have a neglected stamp room.  I also have a great sketch from Krista's Cards & Things Challenge blog to work on.    If you like this sketch, you should play along.  It's a great way to get the stampin' juices flowing.  :)

I like how it turned out.  It isn't a traditional Christmas card.
It is pink so it is better!  LOL

Anti Bac Tutorial

A lot of you contacted me about the bigger dimensions for the Anti Bacterial Soap Holders.  I made another holder this morning and took some pictures along the way to share w/ you.  :)

Here is the base of the holder.  It measures 3" x 10 3/4"
Score at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 6" and 7 1/4"

The second piece, the 'box insert' measures 1 3/4" x 6 1/2"
Score on the 6 1/2" side at 1/2", 1 3/4", 4 3/4" and 6"

***Turn and score at 1 1/2" from each side--this will give you a 1/4" flaps.
Sorry for the confusion--I typed the wrong dimension in! It is corrected now.   I appreciate those who contacted me to let me know. Thank you!!  :)

Next punch out your oval (see next picture below) and cut away the 2 squares on the each corner leaving only the flaps in the center (near the cut out oval).

Because this is a little wider box, you can easily give yourself that little extra needed to put your antibac in.

Add sticky strip to the flaps and the 1/2" ends of your box insert.

Here is your holder after setting your box insert in the base.  Be sure to stick your edges down well.  :)

While some have used velco to keep their holders closed--I chose ribbon.  I think I have defective velcro.  It simply won't stick!  If you have any tips for my velcro dilemna I would love to hear them!!!

Polar Party AntiBacs

While the weather outside was frightful--stamping was so delightful.  Okay, it wasn't snowing, but it was raining and windy so that counts as frightful, right?

I picked up a bunch of anti-bacteria hand sanitizer last week when I took Evan up to Madison for a social skills class. I love going into Bath & Body Works.  I love all the soaps!   My favorite all time scents are no longer available though!  I love Moonlight Path and Vanilla Bliss.  Hmmmph!  Why would they discontinue them??   Argh!  I had to go around the store sniffing all the different soaps.  Fine....  It was so much fun.  I don't think they have ever had a bad scent.

Today, I made little boxes for the antibacs.  I modified the pattern that I found online and made it a 1/4" wider so that I had plenty of room to punch the hole for the antibac.

If you would like the measurements, please leave me a comment and let me know. I will try to get them to you this weekend.

Here's the inside.
There's plenty of room in there.

Here's what you need to make AntiBac Boxes:
Stamp Set: Polar Party, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight
DSP: Brights Stack
Ink: Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain (retired), velco, watercolor paper, dimensionals, aqua painters
Word Window Punch
